Over the last century women have
transformed their role in society
tremendously. Never strangers to
achievement, women are now in the
corporate boardrooms and in the
forefront of our politics. They are
even on the frontlines of our wars.
And always, regardless of the way in
which they choose to contribute,
women have shown a particular genius
for expressing themselves.

Gathered here are thoughts and
observations from some of history's
most accomplished and outspoken
women. Some are serious, some witty,
and acerbic. Each says a great deal
about the remarkable character of
women.
